Artists and craftspeople

The people behind the house

Several artists and craftspeople helped design and decorate L’Ecologis. When quality and friendship come together, the result is lovely! The build was overseen by architect Caroline Fontaine: talent, gentleness and precision.

L’Atelier16

Two friends who pooled their skills to design and build innovative, durable objects and furniture, mostly in wood, often reclaimed. And they are my friends too! They made the tables and the bar.

Caroline Chapeaux

Trained as an anthropologist and journalist, Caroline Chapeaux produces reports for travel and current-affairs magazines, and her photographs are regularly exhibited. Her photos bring L’Ecologis to life, just as she brings joy to mine!

Boris Mestchersky

Belgian painter. Ever since I was little I have loved his use of colour and the world his canvases take me into. Boris is like a brother to me!

Le Retour du Savon

A workshop making “sustainable” soaps: soaps and shampoos made from organic plant and essential oils, or fair-trade and locally farmed ingredients, earning them the “Slow Cosmétique” label. They are provided free to L’Ecologis guests: one more sustainable alternative to try!
